WHERE WE ARE

We are in San Romano in Garfagnana (province of Lucca).

It can be reached by car or bus, also of the grand touring bus (12 meters) and close to the fortress there is a large parking, from which you can continue by walk.

You can also reach the Fortezza by local train from which you can continue with a private mini-bus (recommended only for small groups) or by walk accompanied by an environmental guide. Please stop at Villetta, Camporgiano or Piazza al Serchio.

POINT OF INTEREST

The Fortress of Verrucole is a very important medieval site, located on a hill 600 meters high, in the municipality of San Romano in Garfagnana, Lucca, Tuscany.

There are 5/10 minutes walk an uphill path From the church of San Lorenzo; it will lead you under the powerful Estense bulwarks. You will have a breathtaking view from the sixteenth century ramparts.
